Life Is A Wonderland

Life is truly a wonderland! Woke up this morning to a beautiful sunrise that added sparkle to the morning frost. Took over 400 photos of milkweed. I'm loving the results! They will make a wonderful painting series to work on this winter. Looking forward to capturing the creative energy released in these delicate seed pods.

Build and They Will Come!

Amazing things are happening to me!
All because I'm researching & being inspired & being open to new ideas ...
All because I find myself surrounded by individuals wanting to explore this women's retreat I’m working on. How cool is that! :) BUILD AND THEY WILL COME. I believe this little studio of mine has a wealth of untold mysteries waiting for those who wish to step in .... open their thoughts to creativity, be inspired and begin living a life worth living! I'm so excited! As the program for the women's retreat comes together ~ doors are opening with great rewards. If you are interested in experiencing a day of expression, please contact me and I will be more than happy to share this opportunity.

Enjoy this lovely rainy day ... without it ... our mother earth wouldn't survive.

Yours in creative spirit, Susan

Easter Seals Painting ~ "Day of Hope"

Commissioned Piece
4' x 7' acrylic on canvas

prints available

I was given an amazing opportunity this past spring to create a painting for Easter Seals. The original was auctioned off in Toronto at a fund raising event and is now hanging in the V SPA in Kincardine Ontario. I wrote this poem to go with the painting:

"Day of Hope"

A young girl faces towards the sun.
Eyes closed, she imagines and believes transformation is within reach.
Arms extended, the wind lifting her spirits, a glow emanates from within.
She smiles.
In just one hour, this young girl will find the courage and strength to outshine her limits, to go where she never thought possible.
Today, this girl will climb the ropes for the first time in her life.
When she reaches the top, she will look down upon doubt and cast it aside.
For today, this young girl has been given a gift that will last a lifetime, a gift that will make her smile each time she calls upon her memories.
On this day, the gift of hope will be treasured and kept close to her heart forever...

Apple Blossoms

photography
numbered prints available
...
There is something to be said about apple blossoms. A sign that a new season is approaching. I took this photo on our 1 1/2 acre property that hosts a very old apple tree. I just love her! She is a great inspiration and I'm hoping to paint from these images in the next few months.

Just Getting Started
